The main challenge was to develop a feature within the Total Office Manager software that could efficiently manage and assign work orders. This involved creating a system that could not only schedule tasks but also intelligently assign them to the most suitable technicians based on their location and skill set.
The goal was to design and implement an algorithm that could handle these requirements, integrating it seamlessly into the software. Additionally, I aimed to craft a user-friendly interface (UI/UX) that would simplify the process for users, making it intuitive and accessible.
As the sole developer, I successfully created the Scheduling Wizard. This feature now allows users to schedule work orders and assign technicians with ease. The algorithm I developed effectively selects the best technician for each job, considering their skills and estimated time of arrival. The UI/UX design I crafted enhances the user experience, making the scheduling process straightforward and efficient. This feature has become a significant part of the software, greatly improving its functionality and user satisfaction.
